Wine Clubs! Chambers Street Style...

Over the years, we’ve fielded many requests to offer wine clubs. We’ve hesitated until now (in all honesty we’ve stumbled across many lackluster wines clubs out there; we’d despaired of the category). It seemed to us that retailers use Wine Clubs to foist high margin, low cost items on their clients, an easy way to dispose of inventory. We’re going to do it differently, to bring the same careful curation and selection process to our wine clubs that we bring to our in-store and online customers. With great pleasure and in time for the holidays, we offer four wine clubs, created to highlight our specialties and focus. Each club is available in a three or a six month subscription, and delivery may be spaced out over several months at the customer’s request. Our buyers will select bottles each month from our current inventory in order to send what’s freshest and most exciting to our buyers and sales people, and we’ll include notes to accompany each bottle. Please find the particulars of our clubs below:

Natural Wines Club: For those interested in exploring organically/biodynamically farmed wine, made with minimal manipulation in the cellar and little to no sulfur added, this is the club for you. If you love wine but are concerned with the effect of sulfites on the body, this is the club for you. If you’ve heard the buzz about natural wine and would like to taste what the fuss is about, this club is for you. Specialists in natural wine since our opening in 2001, nationally and internationally acclaimed for our selection, we know our stuff when it comes to these wines and are excited to share our favorites with you. Obscure Varieties Club: Your inner wine geek will thank you for this subscription when you begin to receive regular deliveries of Pineau D’Aunis, Pelaverga, Bobal, Listan Negra, Valdigué, Romorantin, Albilla, Vespaiolo, and more. With a focus on single-varietal wines and an intent to transcend such universally known grapes as Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc, this club is for learning as well as drinking. Grower Champagne Club: We (rather proudly) do not carry any Champagne brands – no Veuve, no Pol Roger, no Moët, only small producers who pour heart and soul into the product (rather than countless dollars into advertising). If you’d like to get to know a new, terroir-rather-than-brand-driven-type of Champagne, or, if you already love grower Champagne and are looking to expand your horizons, here’s your chance. This club is guaranteed to be as delicious as it is exciting. (2 bottles/month)

Grand Cru Club-Chambers Street Style: We're creating our own definition of Grand Cru. For example, when we're put in charge, we would move Gevrey Chambertin Clos St Jacques to Grand Cru status (as would many of our fellow Burg-Lovers). In Chinon, Les Picasses and Croix Boisee have the history and requisite potential to produce Grand Cru wines, as does Les Crayères in Champagne, Monprivato in Barolo, and so on. Our Grand Cru Club will include some labels that read Grand Cru, fine older bottles, and some results from our own explorations of prized if off-the-beaten-path terroirs. Connoisseurs and explorers are equally welcome!(2 bottles/month)
