Just a week ago, for no good reason (or rather for many good reasons), I opened my last mag of 2021 rosé from Ulli Stein with staff here at Chambers Street. We all stood back, closed our eyes at times, and smiled a lot while drinking this understatedly fantastic wine. Such density and complexity paired with a pure mineral core and a long finish. Transcending the rosé category altogether, we were just so impressed with how good this wine was! Of course we were also a bit sad because it was the last bottle we'd drink this year.
Then, much to my surprise and delight, we found out two days later that a couple of cases were discovered in a warehouse. Forget the "but Summer is over" voice in your head, this is quite literally a perfect bottle of wine that can be enjoyed all year round. Dry, mineral, and chiseled, it can certainly be treated like a rosé but would be ideal for any pairings that might call for Muscadet, or similarly stony, mineral whites. We highly recommend you grab some before we're stuck waiting for the 2022 vintage!

Rosé will be in store this Friday, September 9th, and available for delivery or pick up after that!
Pale salmon robe. Fresh and luminous on the palate with wild strawberry, cranberry, shiso leaf on the nose. The lightweight palate (bantamweight?) offers bright hedge fruit and pomegranate flavors with an impossibly stony core. How can something so light carry some much mineral tang? Each sip is a geology lesson. This one is for all you rockers! Highly recommended from both a refreshment and compelling minerality standpoint. John McIlwain // Tech notes from VomBoden website: From steep slate soils; direct press and saignée; Pinot Noir with approximately 20% Cabernet and Merlot; élevage (aging) all stainless.
