At least some of my favorites. These include old vintage Ceretto and Cordero di Montezemolo - not chic names, but wines that have provided consistently great drinking for me and for many of our customers. And Barale, a relatively new discovery in terms of excellent old wine; the bottles we've tasted have been outstanding. Jamie Wolff

Cordero di Montezemolo 1971 Barolo Monfalletto OLD
A consistently excellent wine — we've been lucky to get to taste this several times in the last few years. It needs a lot of time to breathe, and then it provides a classic example of fully mature Nebbiolo. Jamie Wolff
Cordero di Montezemolo 1979 Barolo Monfalletto
ON SALE - was $139.99!
Cordero di Montezemolo 1982 Barolo Monfalletto
Old Cordero Barolo is great wine (recent vintages are in a fairly heavy, oaky style that we don't love so much, but the old stuff...). A couple of years ago we had several cases of this wine, which afforded multiple tasting opportunities; at this price the wine is a steal.
Cordero di Montezemolo 1985 Barolo Enrico VI - Stained
Enrico VI is Cordero's name for a small parcel of old vines in Villero. It's a grand wine, worthy of its royal name.
Mascarello, Bartolo 1988 Barolo Hand drawn label
This wine is so good! At dinner in October '08 it was a great surprise that it showed so well (alongside some serious competition). This is by far my favorite 1988 to date — a vintage with a lot of good wines that are just beginning to open up a bit. This had lots of lovely raspberry fruit, mushroom, stone, and baking spices on the nose; opening up considerably with some time. The wine is fresh and lively on the palate, with good length and complexity. Like all of Bartolo's wines this requires both time and thoughtfulness. I would buy our stock if I could... JW
