Bea, Paolo 2010 Umbria Santa Chiara Bianco
As a blend that includes Italian varietals (Garganega, Grechetto, and Malvasia) along with Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, this isn't the kind of wine that we usually fall in love with, but the Bea's make brilliant and irresistable wines. This one sees extended fermentation with the grape skins, and so the wine has a deep and rich color; unlike some other 'orange' wines, the Santa Chiara retains some elegance and finesse, along with deep and complex flavors. From organic fruit; completely natural, with no sulfur or other additives, and no fining or filtration. It will be a great match for the diverse Thanksgiving menu.
