Le Coste's Beautiful Wines

There’s a very interesting and entertaining report about Le Coste on the Louis/Dressner website. We first tasted their wines at Vini Veri in Italy three years ago, but we’ve never visited them, so rather than just plagiarize, we urge you to read the report. In the meantime, the real point is that we love the wines for their pure deliciousness and natural wine energy. The young couple in charge at Le Coste are doing fine work in the vines and in the winery, and every year the wines are better and better.

Production of these wines is not large, and the quantities listed here are our total allocation for the vintage. The wines are very popular!

NB: "Litrozzo" means Liter (or maybe something like "dear little liter") - which means you get 25% more wine for your buck.

Le Coste 2010 Vino da tavola Rosso

Very aromatic with lots of earthy orange pith and savory berry fruit.  Tastes very fresh and pure with lively acid, reminiscent of cherry skins.  A wine very much about fruit, but with a much more complex set of flavors like cinnamon and spice than the joyous liter bottlings. The wine finishes with a bit of dusty tannin that reminds us that Greghetto is related to Tuscany's great grape: Sangiovese.  JR
